Reno and surrounding areas: Official spotted, BS, and meets thread

What day would you guys be doing these trails? I know I have weird days off. Wednesday and Thursday.

 

and are the all pro leaf packs better than the ome dakars?

 

I don't personally think they are. I'd go Dakar if you're between the 2

 

Anyone in Reno have a hub assembly or know how to press them?
My front passenger side went out, I have it removed and ready to go

 

My buddy and I went up dog valley road a little ways this morning. Made it about 1.5 miles in before we were thwarted by the snow. A couple maxtrax sessions and a little throttle got us through some of it but after a while we realized that we would be repeating that every few yards so we called it and did trail cleanup instead. So much trash up there, even found a full deschutes ipa kicking it on the side of the trail. There was also a pile of glass in the middle of the road which looked like a side window of a car got shattered out. Took the shovel to that and tried to clean it up as best we could. Fun morning in the sun and snow.

Man I need some new treads!

 

That's what I've been thinking of doing, seems like it's more work to get everything set and you run the possibility of damaging other components.. is there anywhere near here that you can get them?
I can leave my truck jacked up out front for that long of a time..

 

I started from behind cabelas, is that where you went? I got up to where the was a gate and thats where the snow started. That where you ended?

 

We started where Henness Pass road turns to dirt after the NV/CA border.

If you are talking about the gate that is just up the road if you take a left where the snow starts, we probably went another 1/2 mile up from there. We were almost to the staging area with the log parameters.

 

hmmm sounds like the same spot. I go behind cabelas, down through Verdi, then take a right on to dog valley then it ends on the dirt, and there is a little info area and a big sign for Toiyabe State forest.

As for tires, I vote STT Pro's. Been awesome on our 4runner

 

I've pressed a few before, pre-assembled is where it's at if you have the time to order one. They're rather finicky to press

 

Do you guys have a press at your shop? (For hub bearings)

It's my daily driver, so I'm trying to figure it out, I'm going to call and see how quick I can get some assembly's in tomorrow, if I can't I might just have to have it pressed..

Napa, summit, autzone, etc don't have any in stock

 

Yeah there are some good deals with quality stuff from vendors but the ones I found were all east coast

 

I've pressed a few for @ROCKSLINGER back in the day, not sure my current press plates would work for it anymore though. My old arbor plates got trashed and now I just run some solid plates, might still be able to but also VERY busy lately.

 

Copy that, I think I'll just wait it out and get a new assembly.. thank you though!

 

Yeah, really the pre assembled ones are the way to go if you can. Bolt on procedure that way.
