Need help with ditch lights. I recently installed some Rigid Industries D series midnight edition ditch lights to my 17 Taco. I continuously blow fuses as soon as I flip the switch to turn them in. I've attached the ground wire and the power wire to different spots multiple times and have tried higher powered fuses than the 15 that they provide and I have no wires exposed. Any ideas on what might be wrong? Should I just buy the cigarette lighter wire for power that has the switch on it from rigid?

What switch are you using? When I wired up my rigids, I didn't like the cheapy light up switch they included. So I bought my own switch. On the wire harness that goes to the switch, there are three wires. On the switch I used I only needed two wires. By trial and error and blowing fuses and using a meter, I figured out which wires were which. The extra wire (black) is just for the switch illumination and will blow the fuse if connected with the positive wire(red) at the switch. The blue wire is your negative wire. Hope that helps.

Your not being a smart ads haha but yes I have them in the correct spots. Honestly I doubted that too for a minute but one of my coworkers said they were where they need to be

Yeah I'm using the light up switch it came with. And I don't have a blue wire. I have a red wire. A black and red wire and another red wire that is labeled as a "black" wire

ok so if your rigid lights came with the same switch mine did then heres how it goes. red wire is hot. black wire is ground. the wire coming out of the middle of the switch is illumination. does that sound like what you have going on?

well, then you shouldn't be blowing fuses unless your grounded out somewhere and don't know it.

The "Black" wire goes to the gold post. The Black/Red wire goes to the center post and the Red wire goes to the other outside post that is not gold. Give that a try

Blue wire or Red/Black wire are the same. They both go to the middle post.

Hopefully its just the wires on the switch that are not on the correct prong or post.
