I would pass on free scratches on my 36k truck. You usually get what you pay for.

Ballpark cost for a semiannual type of detail? I'm not looking for paint correction level of detail, just maintenance to prevent clear coat pealing down the road.

Thats what most people like to do. I would recommend wash with clay bar and then the base level protection I use. Its good for 6 months and lasts longer if you do maintenance washes. I would say 200 to 300 depending the condition of your truck. We could def work something out if you wanted. I am so into the products I use. My truck looks so good with just a wash. Wax is old school, the polymer coating I use is amazing. The stuff I use in not a store brand. I pay a little extra for it but they worth it.

I never asked do they have the old school touch wash with the flappy towel brush things? I just assumed it was touchless.

Anyone have hot springs recommendations between Bishop and 190 going into Death Valley? If so please PM. Looking for a good, quiet soak.

I dunno....screw it, its supposed to get crappy this week anyway. When it gets warm enough, the truck is getting buffed and possibly wrapped.

From what I’ve heard lately Saline Valley has been anything but quiet. Might luck out if you go on a week day but it’s getting into busy season down there now.

Last time I was there it looked like a refugee camp.

When its nice out again, I could hit with a nice buff. Depending on if you wrap or not I could go 2 step and make it pop like a mofo. You get the right stuff on your paint shit gets slick as rick the dirt wont even stick to it.

This death valley talk makes me pissed I didnt go back in november. I was but I was tired after the driving to moab then to lake mead. I just passed death valley and went home. That place is amazing. I went when my truck was brand new and did some long as drives through some cool trails. My wife had no idea, but I was nervous we where so far out and alone. I legit did not see one person on this one trail. I started by the race track, went out past that and ended up in Panamint Springs. Def want to go now I have my rtt.

Likelyhood of that being a shitshow?
That's what I've heard. We would be there around 10am on Saturday for a few hours at most.

I thought there where options around Big Pine that might be a bit less popular.

I personally never miss Saline Valley on a trip to DV. It's literally an Oasis in the middle of a desert. There's always spots around to be on your own and away from the crowds. Soaking you may have guests, you may not. Last time I was there it was during their annual softball match (Skins vs. Superheros...use your imagination here). Even then our group had an entire area to ourselves and only shared a soak for a short time.

Keough's Hot Springs is just north of Big Pine. I've never been but it's right off 395 and well known.
There are quite a few hot springs on the north west side of Lake Crawley. Some are extremely popular, some a little less known. Also there's Buckeye and Travertine Hot Springs up near Bridgeport. Buckeye is one of my personal favorites because it's out of the way and not as well known. Buckeye campgrounds are right around the corner from it too.

I have to get there to a hot spring. I have never been to a hot spring. Also want to go there to sleep like a baby. Last time I went, best thing was the silence. I set up my tent at tea kettle junction at dark one truck went by and did not hear shit until one more truck came by in the morning. Something about the silence that makes me happy.
