I’ve been looking at replacing mine with the Alpine unit with wireless CarPlay. My JBL entune randomly reboots itself when on the phone and just generally sucks. Crutchfield assembles the whole kit for you and has all the adapters and shit you need. Seems pretty simple to self install.

I was looking at Crutchfield today. Trying to decide between the Alpine, Kenwood, or Pioneer HU.

$1,400 for wireless CarPlay on the Kenwood is rough....I spent about the same on the last complete stereo I installed in a vehicle (nakamichi hu and cd changer with a Phoenix gold amp and sound stream sub....back in 1997).

Ive always been happy with Alpine head units. I just put JL Audio C2's in the doors and put 50 watts to them. DAMN they sound good. Just put an LC7i and the Kenwood amp and I am more than impressed with the non JBL system.

Damn $1400 is crazy. It’s like $875 for the Alpine unit with everything.

With Nav, DVD, and input for a 2nd camera? I think the Kenwood has a higher preout voltage too but could be wrong.

Are you using the maestro adapter to retain steering wheel controls?

I'm free weekends too. June 1/2 I'm free. Wheel/camp? There's some pretty sweet spots about an hour east of Fallon.

Nah, Im still using the factory Non-JBL Entune head unit. Just wired the LC7i to it for pre outs and to get rid of the Bass roll off. The steering wheel controls all still work.

Ok well, I will throw this out there. I have access to some private property up in Sweetwater Canyon, about 30 minutes past Wellington, and maybe 45 minutes closer than Bridgeport. There would be plenty of room for everyone to camp out. There is a miners cabin at the top of the canyon if you guys wanna drive up there, but the road is narrow. I took my Taco up there last year and pinstriped both sides of the truck. If you guys wanna do an overnighter up there, Im pretty sure it would be ok to use. If I have enough notice, Im sure I can get the port a potty up there for us to use too.

The West Reno Walmart isn’t bad. Camp at the 2nd Street one if you really wanna have a good time. :D

Yeah. Seems like it is every year. Fortunately the roofers realized this week is going to suck and didn't tear off on Monday like they had scheduled. Hopefully they can get after it next week.
