All clear, and the lower part of Babbit rd off Smithneck is freshly graded.
Rode our dualsport bikes from Verdi up to Babbit lookout then down to Sardine lookout and back. All clear minus some asshats driving way too fast in SxS's on the roads around Stampede and the lower section of Henness pass rd from the Dog valley fork back down to Verdi.

accidentally bought the p rated 285 Falken wildpeaks.... Do you guys think I’m good running them out here. Falken is claiming they are as strong as others LTs but a bit nervous to run them in the desert / get stranded. Coming from C load open countries. Leviathan is about as gnarly as we get. Mostly just hot springing and mtbing shuttling.

debating on selling these and taking a bit of a loss for piece of mind.

Did you ever have issues with flats on the C rated tires? If not, I'd probably run them as long as you're not bombing around on rocky dirt roads and have a full sized spare and plug kit.

Letting a bit of air out of them will help them deform over the rocks so you'll be less likely to get a flat.

The open countries lasted 30k miles and had 2 flats on trails.

Update - I spoke with someone from Falken and explained the situation. He is saying that these Ps are as strong as my previous tires.

I am going to give them a shot. Dude was super helpful, It sounds like labeling these as a P has caused some headaches for them. The next generation wild-peaks in the same build will most likely be branded as a C instead of the current P rating (285s).

They weight the same as BFG K02s C loads so I kind of believe them.

Anyone know of any old tailgates in the area for a good price? I built myself a bench and now everyone I know wants one, these gates are getting hard to find. Normally I get them around $100 each but will pay $200 for ones with good patina that are not bowed to bad.

LOL, oh yeah. Most all those Rodeo's are probably still running. We can leave the spare tire on and everything!

Thanks, we’re keeping the tent for some trips but going back to a Four Wheel Popup for most trips.

I was right by the cattle guard before the rez border today and they had a big construction style sign that said something like ‘road closed ahead, locals only’. They have similar signs going into Palomino Valley at Whisky Springs Road.

Interesting. I was planning on going to Black Rock tonight. They can’t shut down a state highway? I assume you can still drive through and they’re just trying to dissuade people from going through?

Edit- NDOT says just 445/446 closed around the lake but nothing about 447. They can fuck off I’m still going lol.

Yeah my bad I was on 445. Still interesting though cause 445 is technically a through road.

I went out a month or two ago to the Nightingales and I remember they had one of those big led signs on 447. I drove through with no issues. But I think they’ve made things more strict since then so who knows.

Nice. If you see us stop by for a beer. We’ll be camping on the playa somewhere. Probably around the Razorback area.

Cool. Not sure where were going to end up tonight...maybe but tomorrow AM we'll be on the playa so the kids can launch some rockets.

    I'm hoping it's not a shitshow.
