Awesome night last night at BRD. Perfect temps, almost no wind, clouds cleared out and there was no moon which was great for watching the stars.

It was great weather. Saw several shooting stars which is always nice.

Why is 445 closed? Ndot just says closed. How can they just close a road with no explanation???

The res closed it. Residents only. I tried to take it and it was a no go, even for through traffic.

Yep, closed the lake, closed the whole tax payer funded road around the lake. How? Well I guess no one is going to pressure them to not considering the rest of the going ons so they just set up check points. Same thing on Eagle Canyon and apparently many other roads into/through tribal lands.

Oh shit I didn’t even realize the Eagle Canyon closure was for the same reason. I can see the big ass light they have on the hill from my yard and figured they were just doing night construction or something. That’s wack

Im guessing because even though it’s a through road it doesn’t go to any non-res towns so people don’t care. If they tried to close 447 it would cause some issues.

I mean it goes to Gerlach and Doyle. Granted the pass less traveled for sure but when our guys at work have to go check our well field out that way they usually make it a loop between 395/445.

I dunno I haven’t talked to those dudes in a minute but I highly doubt they’d have issues. If I see one next week I’ll ask though.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
Anyone want a spare tire and rim (no TPMS) from a 2011 Tacoma? Both are factory original, good condition and always stored in my garage. Free to good home, unless you wanna donate a 6 pack to the cause!

Are there any local shops that sell King? Need new coil overs and shocks and am going all out. Also, adjusters or no adjusters?

IDK about small shops, but 4wheel parts and Summit both carry King.
Technically we could get them too, but not direct to King just through a distributor.

I just order mine through Downsouth so don’t know about local.

I had adjusters on ol blue and never used them since the weight of the truck never really changed so this time I went without. The couple of times I clicked them around I didn’t feel like there was a $300 difference.

Not local, but like Kyle said Downsouth will give you a TW discount, so will Headstrong.

Do you need a permit to camp out near stampede on Henness Pass Rd?

Hello all. I am new to this forum and looking for some advice on a reliable and trustworthy mechanic in the Reno area to look at my newly purchased 99 Tacoma. Overall my truck seems to be in very good shape, but there is a small oil leak coming from somewhere on the bottom half of the engine. I would like some help chasing down this leak and a general once over of my truck to notify me of any issues I may have overlooked. Thanks in advance!

Depends where exactly. You’re not supposed dispersed camp around Stampede, although people do it all the time. Not sure what the boundaries are or how far away you have to be but as long as you’re not right on the lake you should be good. No permit required anywhere in the National Forest. Just pick a spot and setup.
