Looks like a lot more down in the valleys. Only about 5 inches at lake level.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
Damn, I missed the first snow of the season.

Took a few days off and headed to Half Moon Bay for the crab season opener, 4 days setting and pulling gear. Good times with friends, plenty of good food and good booze. Crabbing was so-so, not like last year where we averaged 30/pot. At least the freezer is stocked with delicious crustaceans for Christmas dinner!

Late to defend Midtown from @kceastsparks ;)

I've been in midtown since 2011 and like it here. Can walk to a bunch of great restaurants and bars (not that we do that anymore because of covid) and the homeless traffic is insignificant (a lot in our neighborhood are just hipsters that people confuse as homeless). Really though, homeless foot traffic was pretty heavy when we first move here but has dropped significantly since WM went to single stream recycling (I guess digging through the recycle for cans isn't as easy anymore).

My in-laws are in Hidden Valley and they have just as many vehicle break-ins and burglaries in their neighborhood as we do here.

All things considered, this isn't the neighborhood for everyone. Ideally we hope to pick up some property outside of town and turn our existing place into a rental but that's the 10 year plan.

As for getting out in the snow, we were out of town until Sunday afternoon so I had to settle for some night wheeling around our house.

We did get at least 6" of snow in midtown though.

It has been. We usually have our first autumn snow before Oct 31. It's snowed in Reno many a Halloween night in the 15 years I've lived here.

When I moved here in 98 is snowed over a foot in June so I don't expect anything from the seasons but I'm prepared for anything.

I read somewhere years ago that the only month that Reno hasn’t had snow is August. I don’t know if that’s true, but I can believe it.

Those hot rods would have some trouble if it was Snowy August Nights.

Obviously my experience is limited, but yeah it seems sometime in November there's real (accumulating) snow. Last Halloween was cold, but dry.

As long as I can make it up Dog Valley to cut a Christmas tree in a couple of weeks, I'm good. Time to teach the youngster how to use a goddamn chainsaw.
