Reno and surrounding areas: Official spotted, BS, and meets thread

I enjoy WFH...started just before the pandemic shut everything down. It is tough to stay focused when the kids are home though. Trying to get them outside before lunch so I have an hour or so of quiet to get stuff done.

we got an inch in Carson, love it. Probably melt by 2pm.

 

I’ve been WFH since March and we are now permanent. They already cleared out our office and put it up for sale. I have really liked it. Still try to meet up with the coworkers for lunch or drinks though.

Although the last few weeks I have been working at our “hoteling” office downtown and it hasn’t been bad. Good to have a change of scenery.

 

Nice! How is it up there? Got a couple days in at Rose over my 3 day weekend and it was great. Snow was good but the crowds on sunday were insane

Yep. Isn't usually as bad on the weekdays but people are taking more time off than ever. If we get as much snow as is forecasted, friday is going to be a cluster

 

We are not to busy at Diamond peak. Im sure this weekend we will be. We got about a foot at the top so far. Its snowing now and looks like its not going to stop till Friday. This was about an hour a go in the trees.

 

i went up on the weekday after the last decent storm (reported like 4-6"), and the lines were still nuts. left after like 5 runs in an hour and half. no more lap days this year

 

With my job I can't wfh, but Im confident i would go 100% bat shit crazy if I tried. Hell if I had any office job I would go crazy.

Woke up to a 4 foot berm this morning that the plow left. Went out to clear it. Plow come by again, gets about 6 inches from my bumper and cleared it all out. Saved me at least a half hour. Super grateful.

 

I would take credit if i could. Next snow storm i'll do that in our HD parking lot. I'll call it "art"

I know. Other people posting snow and in south reno just rain and more rain.

What a boss

 

So weird. A sales rep that lives in South Meadows was griping that his kids have a snow day, and no snow. Meanwhile, I spent 2 hours clearing the driveway. Upside is I have Snow Mountain x 2 and the little one is loving it!

 

Yeah, no. Only rain down on this side of the valley. Where's their school? I know other areas got a good amount

 

our daycare off south meadows shut down early yesterday despite fine conditions down here; apparently a lot of the staff and kids live in north valleys. just a weird storm. in other news, just got back from mt. rose. got there at 1, NO LINES. snow was still great in places. legs burned out after 5 runs. very stark snow line at the bottom of galena. roads went from icy/snow mess to clear/wet in a matter of 100 yards.

 

......I hate you so much right now, but nice job!! Considering goin up tomorrow because *cought* not feeling well. Next week should be amazing

 

yeap, gotta go see Dr. White. id been planning to go tomorrow thinking theyd be closed today, but with the falling snow and dwindling lines as the day wore on, was a no brainer. my boss is the best. also on the way down, saw a CA plate prius about half way up putting chains on in the traffic lane, completely blocking it. gotta love it.

 

I could go on an hour long rant about this kind of bs, but no. My boss really wouldn't give a flying fuck if i took the day off with how slow we've been. Besides, he knows how important skiing is to my stability at work. You should hit it up! Depending on conditions and when i wake up, i'll be doing the same
