Reno and surrounding areas: Official spotted, BS, and meets thread

Almost like it's part of some agenda...

 

Like not having a bunch of people to potentially evacuate so the firefighters can focus on protecting homes and cutting fire breaks to contain the fires.

Shitty situation but it could be worse. It would be great if people that have tags in areas that are closed got a credit toward next year or were able to transfer tags to a different zone but neither are likely to happen.

 

Dumb question but new to the area, Of this screenshot below how much is free game for offraoding? I see tons of trails and places people clearly have been on, but gaia shows non motorized here.

I've got the afternoon and just want to hit some dirt and put it in 4wd. Been a while since I have. Stock truck with good AT tires. Don't care if its challenging or not, just want some dirt. Close is cool but if theres stuff within 20 minutes that anyone would recommend I'm all ears.

 

all the trails showing up white /dashed white are likely 4x4/OHV accessible. You can take the main road to the top of peavine and hit some side trails along the way up or down

 

Not very familiar with the northern areas, but lots of places down south if you're willing to drive. Most of it easily accessible with a stock vehicle, however I found out some of it is..not so much if you don't want to hear bad noises

 

Sooo...visibility down south is down to zero. How about you guys?

 

Fallabama isn't too bad. I could definitely see the surrounding haze when I got to a bit of elevation. Not much stank or ash so that was welcome.

 

It's gotten into the yards of visibility. From where i am down south at BJ's, i can't see anything. No freeway, mountains nothing

Yeah same happened in Carson at my parents place about an hour before it made it here. That was really fast

 

I was just up at the top of peavine and it blew in from the west seems like. Had to turn back and go down because it went from being fine to feeling like someone just smoked 3 packs standing 10 feet away from me. Pretty cool considering how close to me it is though and plenty of little offshoots farther north you get it felt like.

 

Spanish springs is as bad as its ever been. Was hoping to sight in the new rig for this season but not looking good at this rate.

 

I'm supposed to be doing the cutting for my cab mount chop this weekend...in the driveway. Bleh.

 

I was supposed to do yardwork...nope. I'm stayin inside and drinking doing chores

Well, not (as far as i know) expecting one...so i guess I won't get excited
