I haven't been out but the reports from Sierra Avalanche Center make it sound like the snow pack is pretty unstable (as expected)

Yep. The AM commute will be fun. I took the last 2 days off because I didn't feel like dealing with Mammoth during a big storm. My buddy, who lived in Mammoth 30 years, said today was the worst road conditions he's seen. Ever. I expect tomorrow to be equally shitty.

Northstar today was absolutely killer. They opened another chair mid day to get you up to the top of the mountain. Couldn’t have asked for better conditions. Highway 80 this morning honestly wasn’t bad. Cruise at abt 40 mph in 4high and no drama at all.

Toyo AT II's are doing great in the snow/ice. No traction loss whatsoever. Having some AT III's added to the back to replace a couple punctured rears so we'll see how they hold up in the next storm a few days away.

Anyone in the area with the ECGS bushing tools? I know someone is loaning them but was trying to see if anyone has them to let me borrow (or I'll buy them)

I just put Toyo AT iii's on my wife's 2009 4Runner about a month ago. They are a really good tire. No issues at all in the mud, sand, rocks or snow. E-load at 30PSI. I would go lower but it pisses off the TPMS. lol

I've been running KO2s forever but realized how much they suck in snow and ice after this last storm. I appreciate you guys sharing the tires you are running.

I like my wild peaks. Don’t see any reason to change in the future. Does better than I realistically need it to in deep snow. Good enough to make it from Reno to northstar no issues tuesday morning when people were worried about road conditions

Yeah, ko2s aren't very good in the winter. I used to be a fan of them until I tried other tires.

I deleted my TPMS. Don't need it and they are expensive for what they are.

I have them on my 84 4Runner in a 31" and they held up well but it's a light vehicle so that helped.

How did you delete the TPMS, or do you just deal with the idiot light on constantly? I would love to remove them if I didn't have to stare at the fucking symbol constantly.

On my GX when I first got new tires I had them replace the valve stem sensors with regular ones and then there is relay panel under the passenger kick panel that needed a wire modified to remove the light.

I made the drive from Reno to Phoenix today. Can’t wait to get back out to reno in January for wheeling and snowboarding. But 75 degrees will feel very refreshing for a little while. Stay safe in the winter weather y’all. Don’t have to worry abt that stuff here
