Anyone have any use for a factory receiver off a 2nd Gen?

Given the $20/ft that @la0d0g just paid for steel this is a pretty good deal at free fiddy......

on dog valley again, was looking for a shovel I lost. Guy got stuck on the side. He says AAA is otw. His chevy 1500 is dug deep enough I can’t pull him out since I don’t have a shackle to attach to his front hooks on his bumper. He has no shovel. Traction boards won’t make a difference. It’s gonna have to be a real big pull. His AAA has been saying 20 mins away for last 45 he says

    image.jpg

I have his contact info if anyone is able to help I’ll give you that.

Im inherently pessimistic but Id wager AAA will not be of any assistance to him.

I wish I had more spare time, I enjoy a good recovery

I was wondering what that was, there’s a big housing development in Verdi where I go shooting usually, so I had find a different spot. I went to Lemmon Valley and saw at least 100 or more vehicles out there, I thought it was Moto related.

Some other dumbass got stuck trying to help him. His ram 1500 has no hitch. And he says no front recovery point.

I am free today and I have some gear. if that guy got out, I saw the pin on the map, it isnt that far in even, kinda wild. I wanted to go check it out and see if I can fly my drone and get some cool photos but I figured it was too snowed in . might have to wait till spring. anyone know how the other entrance from cold springs is the same or is it accessible ?

Mine is a little fucked up from when my trailer detached from my ball and I was dragging it with chains for a few feet... I can definitely use it.

For those of you who have never had this happen, it's not a fun experience.

Don't remember. It was only an empty 5x8 utility trailer, so could have been a lot worse.

That happened to me when I was younger. Me and the boys loaded up my buddy's boat and went up to Boca to get some stockers for dinner. Dipshit me didn't verify my buddy had hooked up the trailer correctly. Coming home when we went over the railroad tracks the trailer popped off the hitch. So sketch. The only reason the bow didn't go through my back window (I was driving a yukon at the time) was because the chains were crossed. I pulled out in that little dirt pullout about 50 yds after and all was OK.

To this day, I check trailers connects like four times and cross the chains.

Had our duck boat trailer come off the ball at 4am once in the dark. Luckily just a little aluminum john boat so nice and light. Didn't hurt anything, but it scares the hell out of you

As you should. I work at HD and have helped/assisted to hook up hundreds of trailers. Still paranoid to this day

My dad and my sister failed to latch the coupler on my Four Winns ski boat about 10 years ago. Came off going under north McCarran north bound on 580. Boat was ok, trailer wheel was smoked and my dad's tailgate was completely boned. The two of them he-manned it back on the ball. I was super pissed when they showed up to my house.

yo, reno peeps, I have been considering finding a lighter bumper for the truck, perhaps a hybrid, or something that does not have full bull bars, but rather just one. Anyone out there interested in a potential trade for another steel front bumper? This is the CBI off-road t3 adventure , has a cutout to accommodate a 20" Lightbar and so forth. I have considered cutting the outer bull bars that protect the headlights but that would be just stupid I think.

Does anyone have a 3rd gen 6MT with the clutch accumulator removed? Would love to quickly test the clutch feel. Happy to buy you a nice lunch and some beer.

We did it on my wife's 2017, didn't personally notice much different with or without it. Truck is still torn down and being built currently so unfortunately I can't offer to let you drive it right now.
