Got out and camped this weekend. Beautiful weather and not a ton of people out. Also saw an otter which was cool.

With the nice cooler but warm weather on Saturday the wife and I took our dirtbikes out for the first ride since spring and within 30 minutes riding out behind our house I hit a small berm in a turn and washed my rear tire then swapped completely 180* and in the process put my right foot down to catch myself. Ended up basically doing the splits and getting thrown down on my back onto the ground, felt a pop in my knee in the process and thought "that didn't feel right". When I attempted to stand back up the knee was sore and very instable. Rode back home and iced it, but seems I tore my MCL on the inside of my right knee and pulled the muscles on the inside of both thighs plus pulled some muscles in my neck.
First real injury in many many years. Definitely bummed about it and can only hobble around with a knee brace on and be partially productive around the shop. :annoyed:

Damn @RelentlessFab. At least you were out doing something fun and didn't just trip in a parking lot or something stupid like that.

    Thanks for the support guys!

I do not, mostly because I don't want to end up with injuries like these  i usually stick to wheeled sports, bit of mountain biking, wife recently bought a SurRon I've been riding some, as well as dirt and streetbikes and obviously trucks/jeeps.
Appreciate that, if you have any recommendations for exercises/stretches etc or even foods/diet that may aid the healing process I will happily accept the info.

Based on the mechanism I’m not positive it’s just an MCL tear. I would continue to Ice 2-3 times a day in conjunction with elevation. Once the swelling goes down you’ll have a better picture of the instability. I’ve done kinesio or rock tape on the inside to support the area, pulsed Ultrasound to aid in tissue healing, plus stretching and strengthening exercises depending on the diagnosis. I would recommend to get an MRI if it’s still unstable once the swelling is down a bit. Sometimes imaging is poor when there is acute swelling. Diet just try to avoid too much sugar and alcohol (especially wine) as it adds to inflammation in the body.

The Knee is thankfully starting to feel a little better already, maybe I didn't mess it up quite as bad as I could have.

I really need to get around to getting parts ordered for my suspension lol. I’m getting tired of hearing these damn leafs squeal.

That and I need new tires before winter. So obviously need more clearance. What’s y’all’s go to all terrain for snow? I’ve got the wildpeaks. These ones didn’t last super long, 15k miles? Lots of donuts and 40-50 mph cruising on dirt roads tho. They’re also not E load.

That’s my only gripe. But open to suggestions. Gonna go with 285/75/16. I’m doin about 80% on road. Trying to lower that number though

My Deegan 38 A/T's did pretty well for the little snow they saw last year. I have a dedicated set of winter tires that have seen 5 seasons...that I need to replace as they're gonna be slicks pretty soon.

I’m on my third set of KO2s. They do fine in the snow. They’re reliable though which is the most important thing to me.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
Funny, everywhere I look I see people screaming KO2's suck in snow.

Personally, your experience seems to mirror mine. KO2's on the Tacoma (E) and on the 4Runner (C....don't ask....fuck you, Costco) seem to work well in the snow. I wouldn't go do any snow trail runs with them, but for around town when we've got several inches on the ground, or going over the pass, they seem to work fine. Maybe not as awesome on the super-packed ice-snow mix, but on mornings like that, I'm rolling down the hill in 4hi anyway and not in any damn rush.
