Genoa peak gates open after 4th of July weekend.

 

Most of the LTBMU roads should have opened by now unless there is a forest order to extend the closure that was not posted.

Interesting. Genoa from Kingsbury, road to burnside lake, and road out to lilly lake all had gates closed :/

 

I feel like it always ses that but it's been after the 4th the last few years.

Selling our 2012 DCSB TRD OR. It was my brother's truck he got in 2013. Original owner was the head coach for the WA Huskies basketball team (Toyota promo thing where they give them cars). I bought it off him earlier this year and planned to build it, but we've decided to go 4runner instead since we have my other Tacoma. I drove it down from Bellingham and it gave me a comfy ride and 20+mpg the whole way home.

JBL sound, but ***NEEDS RADIO*** Only FM works at the moment. There's a stupid little computer on the back of the radio that apparently fails after about 10 years. That can be replaced for a couple hundred bucks or a new modern radio is like $400. Backup camera works fine.
Rock rails (bolt on, and beefy)
On board air (2 gallon tank behind the front bumper, air gauge plumbed into cab)
Trailer brake controller
normal scuffs/scratches/dings from being 10 years old, but the panels are straight
All fluids done to schedule
New rear brakes about 5k miles ago

 

Anyone have info on if you’re able to do dispersed camping around independence lake in truckee right now? I would just go and check it out but after that adventure with closed gates some info ahead of time would be nice. Independence or the north side of stampede. I really want to find a spot right on the water if possible but I don’t know if that’ll happen

 

I don't believe either have legal disbursed options close to the water.

I know stampede is day use only outside of the developed campgrounds and I think it's the same situation at independence.

 

Timbren axleless trailer suspension - never used. I've had this sitting around for like a year after I tried to install it on my small fiberglass trailer and realized it was the wrong one. This is an insane deal for someone who's in the market for one of these. These are the best suspensions for small off road trailers.

Pull truck off side of road, mostly hidden. If someone shows up:

Have you never stealth camped anywhere?

 

Tent on bed of truck and a campfire and chairs setup kinda makes it seem like I’m planning to do that

I recently passed through the area. We visited a sister near Fresno (foothills).
Out at the turn-off to Mt Rose, or Virginia City, there used to be a gas station. In '70/71?, we were drinking, not causing trouble, just driving around. I was 17/18?, JR was 19/20?, JRs brother Ed, and another guy.
We needed to piss, so we used the area around the gas station, closed for the night. The way things were then. 2 sheriffs cars showup.
We give IDs, and registration. The 56 Chevy has plates from a Buick. We had beer and liquor.
But, they get a call, give us back our stuff, and say something like don't cause trouble or such.

Has anyone been through Jackson Meadows all the way to Bowman Lake and hwy 20 this year?
