A 4 day stint back home in DFW reminded me I do love Reno. Too many people there. Traffic. No mountains. Smog. Drive for 45 minutes and I’m just in the next city over vs here I’m in Tahoe in the middle of trees and perfect weather.

Hate me all you guys want but I’m gonna do my best to become a transplant. At least I’m not from California?

although reno could use an 8 lane each side highway and 75 mph limits with people doing 10 over in the middle lanes. Mofos drive slow here

Outside of Reno most highways go to 70 or 75. I personally wouldn’t want people driving faster than they already do through town it’s already like Mad Max.

When I was young there were signs out side of town that said ...
    End Speed zone.

Until president Nixon and the "55".

I think it was Carter that did the 55 and thermostats at 68 (Winter). Not a political post just checking names.

To be fair cross town here at 70 mph takes 15~ mins?

DFW edge of buildings to opposite site is 3~ hours going 70 mph?

I just like getting places fast but nothings far if it’s in reno or sparks or Spanish springs which I love

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
80 on 80 once you get out there. And some of the big rigs do it - that's always sketchy. Most light cars/trucks are doing 85-95. I just hang in the slow lane and do 75-80, keep out of the way, and go on with my day. I don't like keeping the Tacoma with the 6MT at 3K on the tach for long stretches like that.

Solution: get an auto so it’ll bounce from 3rd to 5th at 75 mph depending how steep of an incline you’re going up or down

Both of these comments are on point. I drive out to USA every day and you guys nailed it. Trucks are either going 60 side by side or doing 80 with the rest of us.

It pains me to say this, but the laws in CA regarding trucks are so much better. They have to stay in the right lane, the speed limit for them is 55 and they actually enforce it. At least through town it should be like that.

The way trucks here will sit in the fast lane doing 60 blocking both lanes. Or all the local dirt hauler trucks that don’t cover their loads. I’ve had so many window chips and cracks. Mostly from SRT or Lakeside trucks. I almost never see NHP commercial enforcement anymore. Or really NHP at all.

Anyone looking for a little fishing boat? Our family has outgrown it so we haven't used it much in the past couple of years. It's perfect for 2 people but rated for up to 4 people. Will list on FB Marketplace and Craigslist for $7,500 OBO in a couple weeks.
