Holy cow lol. That's awesome. I didn't figure they'd make it this long as old as they were.

Personally I won't touch a Ford anymore after our experience with the Bronco. Thing was in the dealer 8 times in the first 10k miles and the dealer service dept (carson) was my worst experience ever with a dealer. That alone turned me off Ford's products. Its one thing to have some 1st year issues or QC problems but entirely another in how they support you with your very expensive vehicle. I've heard so many issues with the newer (seems like mostly 2022-current) Super Duty's that I wouldn't consider one. Seems like daily I see a new one burnt down on social media and a multitude of QC complaints. Ford really needs to get their game together.

Onto GM- We've owned (and still have one) 4 different Duramax's and they've been solid trucks aside from the one thing everyone complains and knocks GM for- the IFS. Steering components and UCA ball joints seem to be almost annual replacements, they just don't last. Even the upgraded aftermarket ones. Engine, trans, rear ends, and interiors have held up well on the trucks for us. Just the damn IFS is the issue; I've considered a WFO SAS with a Super Duty D60 in the front many a time, it would be just about perfect with that change IMO.
Granted my one caveat with the GMs is it seems that the Post-Covid trucks have more issues. We had a 2021 3500 Duramax and I let it go and went 'backwards' to our current truck, a 2017. There were electronic glitches in the 2021 (and our new 2023 Colorado has some electronic glitches) that I didn't like and generally preferred the previous body style inside and out and its slightly smaller dimensions leading for the move to the older truck. I considered a Ram 3500 with the HO cummins and Aisin trans, but the wife didn't like them as much and theres plenty of people online sharing their negative experiences on them as well.

All in all, might just be best to choose the truck that you have the best dealer for close by.

Hey gents, I’ve been MIA for a while …sorry about that. If you have any tuning related questions, let me know. I should be able to keep up with the thread now.

Hey Michael …yes, the tune makes changes to the engine and transmission. The truck will still run on pump gas. There’s no need to run premium, but the tune is octane learning. That means it will push timing for better performance on higher octane.

Regardless of 87-91 octane, the gear hunting is essentially gone with the tune. For me, that was the best part of getting my truck done. That gear hunting used to drive me nuts!

Out of curiosity, how many miles are you logging on the GMCs a year Eric?

Fingers crossed I dont have too many issues with my f250 but locally the two ford dealerships are complete ass on all fronts. Had to deal with them on recalls on company trucks. They are terrible.

Kind of depends on which truck it was for me, on my 2015 I was doing 20-25k a year on it as it was both a daily and work truck for me, on the others I relegated them for more strictly work duties so only 7-12k a year on most of the others of towing and hauling.
My current 2017 has 158xxx on it currently. I bought it right around 150k a bit "bro'd out" and with a bit of differed maintenance stuff from the PO (had to replace all the steering components, UCA ball joints, tires/wheels, etc) but the price was right on it and there was nothing majorly wrong mechanically. After that it needed a rear diff rebuild this winter (seems like PO never changed diff oil and cooked the carrier bearings), a Fuel rail pressure sensor pigtail that was causing an intermittent FRP code, and lastly a coolant reservoir (coolant level sensor is built into it and can fail) which was causing a low coolant message on the dash when full/normal. With that stuff handled the truck has been great for us and aside from the diff rebuild none of those issues were too costly.

We had good luck with Carsons service department, but it was 5 years ago and it was warranty radio issue with my wife's F150 that a reflash fixed so it was easy. The service department at the Ford dealer out here is the worst I've ever dealt with in my life and I won't buy a thing from them because of it. The ifs doesn't worry me, it's going to stay bone stock and maybe get 5-7k miles a year, mostly hauling a horse trailer or toy hauler. I need to drive a GMC Denali. Hard seats smoke my back and the stripped down, no lumbar having seats in my work truck suck bholes.

Looks like you’re running a 3rd Gen Taco. That would be $500 sir. It includes updating factory ECU ID, personalized tune calibration and ongoing support for future truck mods or changes to throttle response. Also includes small customizations (if wanted) like silencing the seat belt chime.

We got a first year Mustang Mach E a couple years ago. I was worried because it was Ford’s first electric vehicle and my first Ford but it has been a solid car. Haven’t had any issues and we’re at 35k miles. Interior and everything is quality and still no squeaks.

I think the interior is one thing Ford has always got right. My 01 7.3 with 206k and my 16 F150 with 92k has zero squeaks or rattles.

The best truck is a 1st gen tacoma, small diesel, single cab long bed, solid front axle, lockers front and rear, and you can buy it with enough axle gears to fit 35's stock and go 65mph

No manufacturer actually builds a truck that people who drive offroad actually want.

Don't buy a new Bronco then!

Hard top makes pops and clicking noises just driving on the road. Passenger door had rattles inside (dealer didn't identify/fix for 3 visits), turned out to be the window actuator was loose from the factory. If you lower the windows at all (they're frameless) they shake and rattle on any bump in the road. Horrible wind noise at highway speeds(worse than my dads soft top Wrangler). Rear swing gate rattled, rear window would leak when you wash it. Infotainment and digital dash would glitch out multiple times a week. 360 cam system would randomly have a blacked out camera here and there until next startup.
I will say though, the seats were the most comfortable of anything I've owned short of the Audi we used to have!
