Reno/Sparks Trail Run

I'm a maybe right now. Gonna have to see if the GF will let me go.

 

That run was a lot of fun. The majority was stock capable but that trench towards the end was not happening.

 

did you get any pics Todd? I wanted to go but obviously didnt make it!

Closest call all day was probably my buddy with a big lifted rover where he almost flopped it in the trench but luckily the taco's all got out before we hit that part there was no way I could of made it with out some gnarly damage.

BTW bumper plates are at the forming shop, I'll let you know when its done.

I'll have to take a look at that thread on Reno4x4. A few of us will probably do a little run somewhere on Saturday afternoon too.

My New Year's resolution is to do more trail runs this year than last.
We're starting the new year right by hitting the trails with a group from Reno4x4 today.

 

Well we had a fun day wheelin with the Reno4x4 crowd. Of the 32 rigs only 8 were non Jeeps. 4 Toys ( my '11 Taco, a FJ Cruiser, a '93 SAS PreTaco & a '86 4Runner), 2 Fords, 1 Chevy & 1 Dodge. Long story short, we ended up on a well worn trail which turned into a two-track and eventually ended. Not wanting to try to turn around 32 rigs on a narrow trail, Bill & Jibs spent some time trying to figure a way to go cross country to get to the area we wanted. We eventually decided we couldn't do that, so headed back down. That's when Chris and I and 2 other rigs decided to bail. The rest found the mines and stopped for lunch, then split into several groups that went different ways.

 

Holy shit this fire is pretty damn close to my house, If anyone lives near Pleasant valley/ saint james I can help evacuate if needed.

 

This is pretty shitty, 2 bad fires this season

Let us know if you (or anyone else in the area) need any help, I'm sure we can rally the troops on short notice!

 

Fire torched the galena g, fire ended up going away from us but if the wind had shifted it would have been very bad.

Damn ima have to get in on the next one. Those trails in Reno look sweet. I'm used to the rubicon wheeling thru trees and skinny trails. I'd love to check out some Reno trails. Glad to here that fire didn't torch your pad either Sloan.

It's mostly Jeeps with some others. The only one I've been on had 32 rigs, 24 Jeeps, 4 Toyotas, 2 Fords, 1 Chevy & 1 Dodge. We got all the Toyotas together somewhere in the middle. These runs are stocker friendly with some optional wilder spots. Some of the other runs they do are just plain crazy rock crawling trails.

 

Well it's looking like the first of the Monthly Monday runs at Reno4x4.com is going to be 2/6 to the Ludwig mines. Anyone wanna go?
