Repair clutch trouble

    How difficult is taking bolts off clutch shroud on '94 T-100?

    Clutch shroud? Do you mean the bell housing? If so, the tranny has to come out.

    yep, did mean bell housing, which... when I take off the bolts (good luck)

    the transmission comes off at the same time. I've got the drive shaft (double) off. I'm

    I'm sure I will have to take of the stabalizer bar so the tranny can be lowered.

    I freed the gear shift of the cover boot. The gear shift lever stays on the

    transmission, I suppose. I will have to take off the stabilizer bar since, it will be in the

    way when I lower the transmission. (I had to clean up the dirty and greasy

    transmission parts and surrounding areas ...what a mess, but better now) But, the bolts

    are extremely difficult to take off. Is an impact wrench and compressor absolutely

    necessary tools to have for this? I put some some liquid wrench and will wait to see if


    that helps to loosen them some. But there is one bolt at the very top that is going to be

    very tricky to get to.

    Huh, I've never done the clutch on a toyota before so I couldn't tell you how difficult the bolts are to get off. I would just get a big breaker bar and a 6 point socket to break them loose. Or an impact wrench.
