Since you're shopping around for a place to repair your truck, I'm guessing that you don't have the skills or facilities to repair it yourself. These trucks make great "purpose built" off road, mudders, and rock crawlers. Shop around, network, it may be worth more than you think to an enthusiast. Go find yourself another ride and chalk it up......it's a bummer.

Buy a wrecked taco from a junkyard to scavenge parts out of. Take 2 trucks and build 1 that works

On what do you base this theory?
Outside of the cab, all electrical is sealed.
Inside the cab, well just dry it all out and hose it all down with wd40 and it'll be fine. Probably even without the wd40. Ever drive in the rain and see condensation forming on the windows? Do you think the windows are the only places where that condensation is forming? Its forming EVERYWHERE. The whole thing gets damp all the time, inside and out.

Your least expensive resolution is to buy another truck, then chop the soggy truck and sell it piece by piece.

Your quickest resolution is to buy another truck and sell the soggy truck for salvage.

Is it fixable? Most things are with enough time and money. Is it worth it? No. Definitely no. Not unless you enjoy chasing gremlins. It's a daunting, stressful, expensive task to take on. Your quality of life will recover faster if you just take the monthly payment of a "new to you" for the next three to five years.

That sucks man. Best of luck.

Not exactly. Electrical components under the hood are water resistant, not water proof. There's a big difference there. Water spray from driving in a rain storm is far different from accidentally driving the truck into a river. That's why insurance companies go to so much trouble to flag "flood" vehicles.

    Working on them
hah! it may sound like funny shit but the Rice thing for electronic components works well as long as they have not been powered up and if the water was dirty full of silt we have taken the items and rinsed them with clean water first then buried em in rice for days.

Help save a 2015 Jeep this way that got in a tad deeper than they thought it was going to be.

LOL, electrical components both under the hood and in the body are NOT rated for submersion, they may be water resistant for rain and washing, but certainly not for extended submersion.

I can guarantee through personal experience at work that there will forever be electrical problems, whether they are just whacko and setting lights or actually causing problems.

Could always strip it. Drop in a 350 Chevy with Locked diffs and make a rock crawler

No, under the hood is continually drenched in high pressure water spraying in from below, from the wheels, and through the radiator and accelerated by the fan. I promise you that they are quite water proof. Do yourself a favor and unplug any electrical connector under there, like the plug on the side of the ABS. Do you see the finned rubber gasket? Do you see the grease on the rubber? Its water PROOF.

What’s the difference? A ship needs to be able to keep water out in order to stay afloat.

In that case, it WAS waterproof, until it hit a fucking iceberg that caused it to no longer be waterproof.

So by that logic, a toaster is waterproof until I throw it in a bathtub.
