I stumbled on a killer track for time alignment and phase. It's basically a pulse "snap" every couple seconds. Eliminating the delay between drivers based on an initial distance setting. The two drivers become one at that perfect alignment. The output kicks up and tone changes when it's in perfect phase. Then between left/right drivers it becomes like someone rapping the windshield dead center with a Philips screwdriver. Worked great. Did pairs then left side, right side on down to sub.

    Sick, ill look into that,
Its a little tough getting multiple speakers ( i.e. 2x8 per door or more ) to line up

Oh yeah. Very. Have to be able to mute and process each channel individually.

these will be run off a single BIG 4 channel so each mid/ tweeter won't have their own channel.
The amp is basically 250x 4 @ 2 ohms.... Yeah as i already said SQ isn't my direct focus but its to go as loud as it can for demos while trying to achieve AS perfect SQ as i can. Db drag Psyclone is a rough cookie and being able to run a close to perfect RTA is my goal this year

so after much research and listening i found a local shop that had Memphis 6x9 components in stock.

installed these as normal with the tweeter in the sail panel [badly installed at the moment, depth issue] and the Dayton mid running with just a 100uF capacitor as a high pass.

much much better. not super high fidelity, but better.

having the mid and tweeter up high has really raised the soundstage, just above dash level now. guitars really take off and people aren't singing to my ankles now.

i tried leaving the mids out and it was terrible. HUGE midrange suckout, basically sounded like every ghetto system out there [all bass and treble. V shaped EQ]

i still need to install the amp and get some proper crossover points. will post pics of this monstrosity later.

this sounds surprisingly good on stock deck power.

so currently the system is :

stock deck [SR5 Entune non-JBL] playing 320kbps MP3's from usb stick

Dayton RS75 3" midrange in stock tweeter location. crossed about 400Hz up with a single 100µF 50V capacitor in series on the positive lead

    running in parallel with

Memphis 15-PRX69c with tweeter in sail panel using the included crossover network.

deck has all power faded to front.

measured with a Dayton Omnimic calibrated system. 1/6 octave smoothing. microphone facing windshield at drivers head height in drivers seat. closed vehicle, not running in closed garage.

ya'll can stop with the "bass processing" or "bass limiting" lies.

    proof!!

The key to making any of it work good is getting a deck with time alignment or a outboard processor. With a mere 6.5 in the lower door and a set of nice tweets in the stock location, all plays on the dash nicely. However, having measured my setup with an rta reveals there's some issues that need tending to with the EQ but it plays well for the most part. I do plan to add a small midrange when I get time.... that's been in the works for a while.

no real updates. trying to find the time/good weather to wire up my amp. then the fun starts

will likely go semi-active for the front. only use a passive crossover btw the mids/tweets

maybe i'll pop for a mini-dsp eventually, but the imaging is pretty good right now....ignoring the massive 1kHz hole

I really like my miniDSP c-dsp 6x8. I don't have anything to compare it to personally but it works well for me.

I have the PPI version, but it's been noted that both software versions can be used.

I've heard about that. I haven't tried using the PPI version. Do you think the 31 band EQ on the input channels would be more useful than the the PEQ? Any other advantages?

Really depends on the type of EQ power you need. Some like the mini version. Others converted over to the PPI. Main advantage is you can use either. I have the Helix in the Taco. The PPI is slated for another vehicle so I only played with the software on the desktop.

On 2009 double cabs, can i cut the speaker source to rear doors and use it to power my full range 3 inch speakers on front doors factory tweeter location and run the original tweeter wires to sailing for new aftermarket tweets and keep factory 6x9 speakers and wires. Keeping the factory deck as well

You can but I seriously recommend the proper equipment to tie it all together. 2-way is one thing, but doing a 3-way takes much more.

I do not want the rear speakers anymore. So pretty much moving the power from rear to the front doors now
