replace 3rd break light

    With tools...

    If you want to completely remove the housing, you need to first remove the headliner. There are two nuts that hold it to the body from inside the cab.

    Two torx screws and peel away the gasket. Unplug wiring harness,... can't be anymore straight forward.

    used to have - 99 2.4L I4 5 lug & 04 prerunner v6
    just a word of caution, replace it with an exact replacement oem or it may leak. lots of people put aftermarket 3rd brake lights then have water leaks because they just don't seal like the oem ones do.

    Do I need to take out all the inside roof padding to get to the 2 nuts
