So I bought some wildpeaks and I’ve had to take them back to discount tire 4 times now to rebalance them, every time they are off and need weights adjusted. I’m over having to go back each week and they said they’ll replace them with a different tire (I assume I’m paying the difference). I want to keep something light-ish since I won’t really be wheeling hardcore, maybe a little in the summer. I’m in Colorado so decent in snow is a must.

Ko2 - heard they are terrible in the rain.

Coopers? - seem pretty pricey and heavy so idk

duratracs? - has them a few years ago and the traction seemed meh in snow

My E rated cooper XLT’s are about 10lbs lighter than E rated Falkens. They’re cheaper too. Amazing tire with great wear, balancing, and amazing road mannerisms.

I believe my falkens are the SL/lightest ones. 46lbs I think.

I just had this exact thing happen and I replaced mine with the Hankook ATF RF-11. They have been WAY smoother driving on the toad and seem to trail ride just fine.

265/70/17’s Love the wildpeaks look and quiet ride, but man this is frustrating.

Cooper AT3 LT in 265/70/16 is 47lbs. One lb heavier than your current tires.

They have a very good rating with a 660 treadwear. I live in a Idaho and they have been awesome so far. I’m even towing a 3500lb 20’ Jayco trailer with them

They are 44lbs (if that matters)

The Hankooks are way smoother and quieter than the Falkens

Just curious if you have SL or E rated that’s causing issues?

edit: I need to read slower. Just saw SL.

Kbro2s are nice. Just keep the rotations current and check the wear with a 2 dollar thread depth tool and adjust pressure. Never once worried about off road with those and I live in a pretty rainy spot, always felt confident driving those

Had Hankook ATMs (SL) on my 2006 and they were great. Really surprising snow and ice traction. I have Toyo AT2's (C) on my 2016. They are much more aggressive with more void space and bigger lugs. They just redesigned the AT2 (AT3?). It looks a lot more conservative, like the wildpeaks. I will be checking them out next time.

That’s weird. I have Wild Peaks and haven’t had any issues.

KO2s are a great tire and do just fine in the rain. There are better tires for snow, but I’ve never had an issue in the rain (I’ve never actually had a problem in the snow either but they do slip around a bit).

There's been a bit of chatter on the forum about struggles balancing the Falkens, so I wouldn't count yourself as the loner. I think I also read that they've done a redesign recently and the balancing is better (more consistent?). But don't make decisions off of my 12:30am memory!
