^take a peek at the vendors' website's like Allpro or RelentlessFab and go with a fresh high clearance front end

Fronts are a little more involved because the stock bumper covers are held on with a shit load of plastic clips and screws but it's not terrible. Just take your time and note which screw went where.

Will it affect the ride and fuel efficiency?

I installed a front bumper, granted not as heavy as some, and all it did was make the front feel a little heavier and drop the front by about 3/4".

I don't think gas mileage changed.

First off, I like the bro move of making her pay for it, but second, it doesn't sound like your ready to pull the trigger on a full replacement bumper.

Third, plate bumpers will probably hurt resale. Fourth, if the plastic chin gives 1mpg I'm guessing you'll loose 1.5-2mpg.

Fifth, I don't know how great a stock truck would look with a front end replacement bumper. Not sure where the damage is, but there are slim line style bumpers that are also an option.

It'll drop the front about an inch and it'll effect fuel economy by 1-2 mpg. These are from what I've seen on other vendors

Did aluminum @Pelfreybilt and didn't notice much drop (didn't measure) and only slight diff in mpg but I also did a full set of their skids as well.

And you're my hero for getting your girlfriend to pay :hattip:

My steel bumper didn't affect gas mileage noticeably or the ride of my vehical. I'm stock SR5 except for the bumper. I'm glad I did it.

Other than potential 3/4" to 1" drop, and 1 to 2 mpg drop, I have to agree with Diablo169 that if the rest of your truck is stock, a heavy bumper might look out of place. In my opinion it only works if you already have a lift and bigger wheels. If you plan on going the lift & wheel mod way in the near future anyway, then it should be okay for the short term since it will be work in progress. Otherwise, no. (just my opinion though)

^The welds on my AP bumper were good, but that was from 2011, when AP was based on Cali. If you are that concerned, ask AP to send a few photos of current bumper builds. In all cases, though, they will be better than the shitty OEM welds on the frame. :D

I do plan on adding sliders, bilstein 5100's and skids but don't know if I would go larger than 265's so it might look out of place.
