replace e locker with non e locker.

Looking at buying a 01 taco prerunner 3.4 v6 - has a bad 4.10 e locker. Looking to replace entire rear end. Do you know if you can replace the e locker with a non e locker like this one? I don't really care about having the locking function. Any help would be appreciated!

No reason that you wouldn't be able to. The 8.4" is the non e-locker rear end. Same width and everything, just different size third member. The 8" rear end is the E-locker one that came in the the TRD's. Make sure it's got ABS if your truck has that too.

Although if I were you, I'd look for a 8" e-locker rear end to replace it. All the wiring is already there and they aren't super hard to find. Look around on the 1st gen parts for sale on here too.
