As many of you predicted, I managed to shear off the lug when trying to remove the nut. Tried to be careful. Also, the other nut was in such bad shape I couldn't get a socket to hold on it. The good news is a found a local, private mechanic who specializes in Taco's (he has a couple) with a great set up with more tools (and ability) than me. Dropped the exhaust, repaired my mess with a little welding and put in the new Denso O2 sensor while he had the exhaust down. Great guy and very reasonable $$$$.

I feel a bit defeated since I didn't do it myself but the bonus is that I found a great resource for stuff that is beyond my abilities. Thanks everyone for the help. Learned alot.
