I'm having intermittent starting issues (no crank) and currently in a situation where I'm using a jump wire on the Starter Relay to start the truck. This works flawlessly 100% of the time but it can be a pain to pop the hood every time I need to start the truck so I've been pondering if I can just wire a switch into the cab. I've completely removed the Starter Relay at this point to save me from having to remove/replace it each time and the truck doesn't seem to mind.

First question: Is there any reason I need the starter relay plugged in if I'm using a jump wire to start the truck? Any long term issues?

Second question: How would you go about wiring this? Is there an adapter I can plug in that I could simply wire up to a momentary switch on pins 3 and 5?

Long term plan is to fix the no start/no crank issue but it has proven to be time consuming.

Shouldn't be too hard to track down the issue, starting circuit is very simple. Ignition Switch, Clutch Switch, wiring, and STARTER Relay is all that there is.

Will it start if you use the Clutch Start Cancel button?

Only sometimes. This was my latest discovery. I thought the issue was the button under the clutch but my assumption is that the clutch start cancel button would negate that theory if it isn't working consistently.

Is there a diagram to show where they are?
