My tailgate lock is pretty sticky, it's hard to get the key in and it's hard to turn to lock/unlock. I see you can buy just the lock cylinder, is it difficult to install?

Try some graphite from auto parts store, it's a dry substance in a little tube, hold the key hole cover thing open qnd squeeze the tube a few times to get some to puff in, then insert key and turn back and forth many(15+) times.

That's what I'd do, but to answer your question, no. It's easy to replace but I believe you'll have to buy a handle assembly. Pop n lock makes one for like 50 bucks. But the install is less than 10 mins.
