If anyone needs some info on this fun project, let me know, I just replaced it. Oh, and go with Toyota dealership parts. i ordered a latch from a company that sent me the wrong one and hasn't refunded anything yet.

I like write-ups. If writing one is a bit much, then maybe you could offer a few tips about removing this and that, what you thought was hard, what was simple, you know, that kind of stuff? :cookiemonster:

I knew I should have taken photos with my cell phone, especially when it became apparent that the first replacement latch was incorrect, and I'd have to wait a couple of weeks to get the other one in. I finally found a couple of youtube vids that showed replacing a similar latch, and I could figure it out from there. My primary challenge was remembering where the three steel rods attached to the exterior & interior door handle and the lock. I also learned something about installing door panels. It had been worked twice before (broken exterior handle and after a deer collision, and 8 of the 12 screws attaching the various compenents were missing (no wonder it rattled), and about half of the 12 trim panel retainers as well.

I will see what I can do...
