Number two injector failed so I replaced them all, put it back together ran fine but was blowing heavy white exhaust smelled like coolant. Took it apart, the gasket for the iac had failed and coolant was getting into the carb. Replaced gasket now inside of the carb is dry but coolant still present in the intake no change with the exhaust. Did a pressure test and coolant stayed at 13 psi for 15 min no leaks. Had no problems before the injector job.

    Welcome to the forum!!

Just pray tell are you working on that has a carburetor and IAC??

Give it time to get all the coolant out of the engine

If it held pressure you should be good to go. Head crack that only opens at operating temperature but will not leak with cold engine at 13 psi.

    Coolant level staying full?

    Good luck!

With a bone stock '99 3.4, are you describing a throttle body, rather than a carb?

    4 run, 2 don't
Imagine OP has a swapped small block chevy hence the carburetor, up front, and maybe a fuel injected engine running the rear wheels?

I know little on 5vz's......but can you have an intake gasket leak......and that water damage no.2 injector......

Any chance you've over heated that engine......

What exactly do you mean when you say "coolant is still present in the intake". The IAC is the only location coolant overlaps with the (upper) intake manifolds. Are you sure you've correctly attached the lines to the IAC, kinda sounds like you may have one of them crossed?

:thumbsup:If that was the case when the IAC opened coolant would flow into the intake .

When The IAC closed in theory the cooling system would hold the 13psi pressure.

This is easy to swap lines speaking from experience.:anonymous:
