I actually use them as DRLs as the factory OEM DRLs are kinda weak. I shut off the DRLs via settings and this way these and the LED taillights are on during the day / dusk which is what I prefer due to all the Texting Tina’s on the road.

Cheap upgrade…so far I put 2K miles on it and had a good time doing so. By far the best Tacoma I have ever owned and I’ve owned every generation since the mid 90s.

I’m surprised they weren’t LED to start with.

Yeah kind of odd. From what I’ve read they’re the only light on the vehicle that weren’t LED…possibly a part availability issue? Nonetheless, a simple fix.

When you say 'simple fix' could you elaborate? I watched a video of someone who switched out the foglamps to another, brighter type, and he took the whole freaking front end off to do it.

Should be easy on driver side. Passenger side you just have to remove part of the intake to access.

Foglights are an entirely different thing. I’m referring to just the turn signal / parking lamp bulb. Literally 5 minutes.

So they’ll stay on as a DRL and also blink when needed?

Yes…just slightly brighter than the OEM bulb and no “lag” when flashing like the OEM bulb…

make sure your switch is on the correct position. Put it on the parking lights position. Your taillights and parking lights will illuminate and the parking lights with the brighter LED bulb do the same thing as a DRL except they’re amber.

    Fyi,

I noticed after I posted here that these bulbs are not working in DRL mode when the lights are set to AUTO. I have yet to see someone demonstrate all of the possible settings on the 2024 Tacoma Off-road Premium.

Might want to keep and eye on After I get my truck and the bulbs, we’ll see what gives.

    Looks nice.

Do you use regular blinker fluid in those or synthetic?

Do you have them and they don’t work when the switch is set to auto? I could not find that mentioned in the link you sent
