I have noooo idea if they still are selling this kit, but it literally dropped into the truck and hasn't given me a single issue yet. And I started this thread back in 2014.

is your rack issue an abuse of parts issue or perhaps over pressure issue? im leaing twds a pump just to see if, like you, i can get a little more steering at slow speeds.

Total abuse of parts lol, I've had 35" tires and now 37" tires, upgraded tie-rods, and some heavy dirt miles.

The pump on mine is still going very strong, so I don't regret that purchase at all. The rack however is a consumable item that starts leaking really badly when it is time to be replaced.

    Bump!

They don't sell his kit any longer.
I lost power steering too. Had a leak at the rack end seals but it's not serious enough to explain loss of power steering. Also the reservoir is full (didn't top it off)
So I guess the pump is toast.
Plan is to replace everything, rack, pump, reservoir and lines.

Anybody know where to get this? I'm sure if I go to th dealer I'll be bent over but there's no way I'm getting any of this from autozone. Maybe the lines.

Rack I'll get from Napa, does anyone have pet numbers for the pump, rest and lines?

I ordered the 3.0 kit for my other truck and it won't fit without heavy modification.
I do know if you use pump sp1200x and the pulley 2427 you can install it in the 4.0

I was on the phone with PSC Motorsports yesterday and trail gear as well. PSC Guy told me they didn't have complete kits for the 4.0 and that I would need the pulley as well as the pump mounting bracket from Trail Gear. So then to TG I go and they don't have anything for the 4.0 actually.
Looks like the only bolt on option for the 4.0 is OEM. FACK

    This one?

Still leaves the bracket to be sourced. In my research I found nobody makes a bracket to fit these pumps to the 4.0... at least not anymore as PSC doesn't sell the kit the OP bought anymore

I think that one will work. And when I talked to nwitaco today he said the tc pump bolts straight in but you may have to make a spacer to line the pulley up. I'll find out next week as i ordered all the parts.

Any progress? The pump is the correct pressure, mounting in the correct spot might be a doozy. I’ll grab a photo of my pump when I can.

    Little update on my end.
I went up to 37” tires.
PSC pump is still functioning normally.
Steering rack has been working but very leaky, so there is some prototype development at Dirt Designs to upgrade the OEM streering rack. I’ll post more info when I get the rack installed. Currently my truck is on jack stands

The heim steering also hammers the stock rack

At this point I would just say to replace the lines and the pump

Nothing like a boot to protect the rack end seals from dirt?

So I have the tc style pump that will mount in. Stock location. I'll have to shim it so It won't destroy belts though. Now the tricky part, psc doesn't make the 4.0 7 rib pulley any more so I had to buy a 6 rib pulley from trail gear and get some 6 rib belts. I have everything I need for the swap other than a New power steering line which I plan on getting in a few weeks. I won't do the install until after October 14th as I have a trip planned and already doing a shit ton of work for that haha.

I have also built a custom tie rod as well for some added strength. Camburg clevis and 3/4 heim inner to 1.25x 120 wall Dom tubing to fj80 outer tie rod. Had to drill out the spindle and bushing in to match the taper of the fj tie rod end.
