Replaced the radiator now the heater doesn't seem to get as hot as before. I replaced the rad cap and it got somewhat better. Any suggestions? Thanks folks

    Hey Jim,
May be air locked....meaning that air may still be in the system. One way ( at least on my 04 ) to check is to get the engine to operating temp, turn the heater on full blast, open the hood and check the coolant control valve that allows coolant to the heater core. Make sure coolant is flowing thru it with both the inlet and outlet getting hot. You will also have a hose coming out of the firewall that is a heater core discharge, it should also be hot.
On my 04 heater coolant control valve is under the hood and screwed to the firewall almost right on center. It will have a cable coming from the inside controls.

if you used a double core radiator for better cooling it also means it will take longer to heat up the heater core too

I took the cap off and let it run for about 15 minutes. Forgot the cap was off and revved it a little. A gusher of antifreeze volcanoed out and poof, no more air bubbles.
