Replacement back up camera

Hey guys,

looks like my stock OEM back up camera in my 2021 Tacoma OR has gone bye bye...I am looking for a replacement that will fit in the same spot as the OEM one. But maybe have a better quality picture?

I have upgraded the head unit on my Taco already, does anyone recommend or have a source for a good HD backup camera that will be a simple swap in the factory OEM location? Ive been looking on websites from Tacoma Beast etc...but im mainly finding front facing cameras or rear camera relocation kits.

Has anyone replaced the stock OEM camera with a better one that fits in the same location?

If you've swapped out the headunit, it's more likely that something became disconnected behind the HU than the camera actually failing. Have you checked the dash wiring yet?

 

I have yes, i already had toyota service confirm its the camera that needs replacing, everything else is good.

 

Sooo....does noone have a source for a replacement camera that fits in the stock spot? or is Toyota the only ones with that option?

 

I'm not aware of anyone that has swapped the oem tailgate camera for an aftermarket type. I wouldn't be surprised if oem is the only type that fits.
