    See thread title…

My setup looks just like the pics that have been posted except I have slightly less slack and can’t bolt the guide up that high.

Did you try bolting it on with vehicle on ground? Or you can jack up the rear axle if in the air. I've done it on countless 2nd and 3rd gens. Once bolted, bend into position.

I made this mistake at first too , until I lowered it and then it worked like a champ once off the stands…

Yeah my attempts have been with the truck just sitting in the drive way. I would have to murder the guide to position it in a way that wouldn’t put major force on the brake line.

Unless…are you bolting it on the bracket closest to the tire or the one furthest forward?

I can see from this photo it’s the bracket closest to the tire. Ain’t gonna work on mine. I’ll take a photo when I get home.

I would bolt it up wherever you can. It just needs to support the line through the suspension cycle. I had mine zip tied to the leaf while I figured out to ream the hole to fit and give it a new bend.
    Subd for pics.

    Edited for pics:

I drilled abs tapped the spring clamp, sits about where the stock line hanger was.

I bolted mine right up after reaming out the hole on the bracket a little. Super simple.

I've done this as well. More work, but it does sit lower which is nice.

So I'd assume you're having issues with the one that attaches to the frame. That one can be a bear to get back on if you removed it.

No that one is intact. Posting a picture below, you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Hopefully these photos help clarify. First one is where the bracket and brake line sit at ease. Second one shows the highest I can lift the bracket, relative to the bolt many of you have secured it to. Any higher and I’d be putting far too much pressure on the brake line. Really what I need is some kind of bracket that would hang down from that leaf bolt.

Put it where it goes and bend to where it needs to be. Telling you it really will work like the rest of ours but if you think you need a little bracket home dump will have everything you need.

It will work. I lift Tacomas every week. Is the E brake set when you are trying? Make sure the E brake is off.

Edit: Also the easier way is to have the leaf spring bolt facing the other way. Then it leaves a stud for you to place the bracket onto.

I looked at post #5 again and I think I was misunderstanding the way in which the bracket gets bent. Can you confirm that it gets bent out and down? If looking at the driver’s side bracket from the front of the truck it would rotate 90 degrees clockwise. Yes?

2nd option is to buy a tap. Drill and tap a hole a couple inches under the gold bolt there on your leaf spring bracket. Bolt the bracket to your new hole.

Honestly you should flip this bolt around regardless. Some have had their fuel tanks nearly punctured from that bolt facing the way you have it.
