Hey all- this is my first post, as I have a TRD sport on order and trying to get some ideas put together before she arrives.

What is a good replacement front bumper for a 3rd Gen? I have a friend with an ARB and loves it, but I know there are a great many other options out there.

First off, I'm not going to install a wench. Second, I don't want something so heavy that it's going to push down the front end.

I want somehing that has grill-guard qualities; I'm not looking for something to just bolt onto the factory bumper (I apologize in advance for my terminolgy...).

    Any thoughts?

many threads here on that subject. almost anything you put on requires cutting the plastic front part.

No winch? Why bother? I'd put the money somewhere else.

C4fab has their low profile bumpers. like what @Thunder Fist said
CBI has their T3 bumper line

Those are the bumpers that are most low profile IMO. Plenty of others that are more heavy duty

If he said hes wanting a grill guard or upper protection ( hoops ) then the low pro bumpers are obsolete for him. OP do u mind cutting your stock bumper? If not then their are many options. Check out rci( should be out soon) , cbi , pelfreybilt and theres a few more that offer hoops. If you cringe at the thought of hacking your stock bumper then a full no cut is what you need. Which will narrow your options. and in my opinion c4 fab is one of the only full no cut bumpers i like. Besides one other company the name slipped my mind. Also if your looking for a lighter option i know a few of the conpanys mentioned offer aluminum versions. Dont know what your intended uses are but aluminum may be a good option for you.

Oooo- I'm not really fond of cutting a factory bumper. I'd rather leave it as-is or replace the whole thing. But now I've got a good start on where to look.

I didn't really search for a new truck before I ordered one. I knew from other Toyota driving friends that there are never any manual trucks at any dealerships close by and I wasn't interested in having to screw with driving all over the state or having a salesman string me along for a few months while he looks for one. This will also give me time to get the most money out of my current truck instead of settling for their fairly low trade-in value.

Thanks for all the bumper ideas!

Sorry for continuing with the off topic, but I took delivery of my manual transmission 4x4 Access Cab Sport with premium & tech package yesterday after ordering it exactly two months ago. Hope that helps.

jk2007x, I just recently purchased a 2017 Tacoma Sport 4x4, crew cab, long bed, and I've been researching a ton of aftermarket accessories. If you check on Ebay for a 2017 Toyota Tacoma RRW Baja Stealth, you'll find an awesome looking bumper, lightweight, and a very nice price to boot. Also on Ebay, I purchased the MBRP 3" cat back single side exhaust, black, for 2016-17 Tacoma. Super easy installation, awesome sound, and a notice in performance as well. Hope this helps out.
