Replacement Headlights / Tail lights

My '06 Pre-runner is looking it's age. I'd like to start doing some up-grades to it. I've been looking at headlights and tail lights (first). Lots of choices and lots of reviews about housings that leak. Before i drop a couple of a hundred $$ on lights, I'd like to get some recommendations.

I have had good success with my headlight and tail light mods. You can see some photos starting at post #18 in my build thread.

 

Many people buy these and have zero complaints.

 

^^ I have the same ones, make sure you run a bead of clear silicone all the way around the seam so they don't fill up with water. I also went with @csjumper2003 LEDs all the way around, looks sweet!

 

I haven't heard one person say they ever had a problem with them leaking or any other issue. So you shouldn't have to run a bead of anything to prevent water leaking into them.

 

And as far as the Headlights why would you spend that cheap money on a set of headlights that are pretty much guaranteed to leak?

 

I haven't had any leaking on headlights, tail lights, or 3rd brake light, but everywhere I read, it was a problem, so we will never know if I needed to silicone them or not as I am all good! I mean, hell, why buy insurance, it's not like you might ever get in an accident or anything?

Eagle Eye I think these are called all black no chrome insert besides got the reflectors

Don't mind the tent only pic I found with no lights on

 

I personally only use OEM. Id rather get used OEM than new aftermarket... too often they are junk and condensate, forcing you to buy new ones again, spending more than you would have on factory.

Especially headlights, where the alignment adjustments on aftermarket are usually shit. There might be some good aftermarkets out there, but i aint seen em yet

 

Bought a set of aftermarket rears 4 years ago. Bumped one and it has slight crack which let some water into the reverse light area. It did crack pretty easily. Put seal-all on the crack and around the edge and they work and look perfect.
