Looking for recommendations for a replacement set of leaf springs for my brother's 09 regular cab 4x2 base model. It isn't lifted, but it's got the 5' bed and ends up hauling mulch and dirt every summer. Ideally I'd love to find something that adds minimal lift (0.5") but is a bit heavier (so that 4 50# sand bags in the bed doesn't make it rest on the bump stops). Any tips/ideas??
    Thanks!

considered those, but was hoping to find something like the wheeler's heavy duty pack, but for the 4x2 base models... something that could work with the OEM struts? Not an off roading truck at all, just a general haul around town with some heavy stuff occasionally and I don't want to put a new set of Toyota POS leaf springs in...

I don't know much about the 2nd gens, you can always go custom, they can build whatever you want. If you go that route I would suggest staying away from alcan.

I just ordered a set on the web. My 2011 just broke one. Under 3 years but over 36k miles. Toyota offered to assist with $ but why would I want the same problem in a new package. About $475 DIY. Went a leaf heavier than OEM.
