Hello from Hillcountry. I have a 2001 crew cab Tacoma prerunner 3.4l. Bought it with best intentions cause I love my Toyotas. Motor had some high miles but rest of truck cherry with some door handle replacement, valve cover gaskets and dreaded front wheel bearings. Things were looking good to be back to life for truck that had been sitting. Got it back on road for about a 100 miles and Bam bottom end knock, and top end chatter. Too much to believe it's gonna fix itself and replacement motor needed. Need advice, knowledge and experience with you good folks in my area. Thinking LKQ, JDM or maybe someones got a motor for sale.Taco member advice appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from ya.

Hey thanks for the feedback. Got both those on radar as I have been looking at options. Guess it's a crapshoot these days 1150 bucks for what you said BD in last post on JDM. LKQ wants 2050 bucks for 111k motor AND 1750 bucks for 178k motor. looking at good money after bad or a success story.

Info much appreciated BigDaddy. I have myself installed JDM out of San Antonio in past. 2 motors, 22r and 22re one little blue pick and the other 86 forerunner back in the mid 90s. I had good enough results. That's a different time do you think they are still worth it and with this 3.4l application. Remember your not under oath, ha ha thanks for the input.

I don't think you will have a problem with them. Call and ask them what or if they give a warranty of any type.
