The driver's seat in my 2011 access cab TRD/OR is spent. There's a spring poking out of the back. I can feel something hard (probably metal) in the lumbar. And the fabric is gone on the left side bolster.

I need a replacement. I'd like to go with OEM so that I only have to replace the driver's side. (Passenger seat is fine.)

I don't really want to do the junk yard route. Replacing a used seat with a used seat...

The Toyota dealer says the seat is discontinued. ToyotaPartsDeal says it has one... for $2500!!! (p/n 71200-04440-B1)

Can't you just order the worn out components and replace that? New foam and new fabric. Replacing the whole seat is kinda extreme.

Honestly the OEM toyota fabric has already been really terrible. Leather is a different story.

    I'll probably do this. Thanks.

The covers are still pricey. (Over $300 for each part.) But better than $3000!

For reference, here's the driver seat (LH) codes.

I used the complete seat part number you provided to break it down into sub assembly parts of the seat. Not sure why your cushion and foam part numbers are different but probably best to check with your local parts professional at the dealer.

I'd try to find a local upholstery shop and get a quote from them. I bet they could fix the seat for way less than $2,500.

One thing I'll caution on is I went this route with my wife's car awhile back and they disconnected the airbag when the battery was still plugged in. Not sure how the Tacoma would handle it, or if it even has an airbag in the seat, but long story short I had to clear the code on her car. Therefore, I'd recommend disconnecting the battery, taking the seat out, get it fixed, put the seat in and only then re-connect the battery so the SRS system doesn't see the airbag was removed and throw a code.
