Replacement struts/difference between 2wd and 4wd?

Hey y'all, long time lurker. I've consulted this place for ages to troubleshoot issues. On my 2nd Tacoma, first was an immortal '04.

I'm at 152k on my 2019 2WD crewcab SR and badly need to refresh rear shocks and front coilovers/struts. I'm seeking stock ride and was trying to find KYB pre-assembled units....kept running into an issue. On rockauto they're listed for either 4wd or 2wd and they don't have the latter. No one does. Even on eBay a lot of the shocks have 7 pages of compatible vehicles and they'll all be 4wd models.

I was under the impression the shocks and struts were the same aside from the TRD OR suspensions? Can someone let me know if I order "4wd" KYB's that they'll fit?

I spent an hour trying to find the answer on here and broke down to just make an account and ask.

 

Since there is not physical difference between the suspension and frames of a 4wd and a 2wd on 3rd gens, the struts and shocks will interchange. The only difference might be the valving or front spring rate.

As you can see here, from Toyota for the front shock, they will work with either 2wd or 4wd.
