I'm prepping to do my Icon install in a few weeks and I am opting to cut the current bolts out instead of bending and cutting metal. My question is, other then ordering OEM replacements, Could I find some grade 8s from Ace and save some cash? Has anyone done this?

I would imagine a flange bolt from Fastenal or Ace would do just fine but maybe you could contact Toyota to get the bolt specs

Totally understand where you are coming from! I was more just curious if someone has replaced these bolts with a set of grade 8s, but you're right, there is no reason to risk it. I've already pulled the trigger and ordered a new set.

    Cheers!
