Anyone have any input for replacing the TC 1" ID stainless steel uniball? Looking online the TC parts are pretty overpriced. I recently bought used TC uca's from a fellow TW member and was told they were good. But on receiving them and tearing them down we've found out that one is done and the other is on its way. Seller has wiped his hands of the deal and I'm trying to find replacement parts that don't add up to what I would've paid for all new uca's in the beginning. I know it's the risk of buying used. But still pretty choked that seller won't help out at all.

That sucks, bad picture but they definitely don't look good. Put the seller on blast here. Seems like he lied or was genuinely clueless.
After what you just learned, bite the bullet and get the new parts from TC. And if you keep them clean as much as possible and hit them with dry lube every now and then they'll live a lot longer

I even shot a short video of me clicking the inner race and the play with the outer cup. But I can't figure out how to upload it. In the guys defense I did get them for $400 including the 30$ shipping. But cmon....for the 400 plus almost 200 for the replacement uniballs I could've bought new.

I want to believe it was a "simply clueless" situation.

The bearings should have a part number stamped on there and some local bearing distributors could find them for you or you could try to find them online. I bought a backup set for my camburg arms for my last tacoma and was able to find them not through Camburg and saved a few bucks. If you buy them from Wheelers or something they usually are sold in pairs, I would not expect to pay more than $100 for a pair of bearings. So rebuilt if the bushings are still good you are looking at that $500 and change territory which isnt to to bad.

No problem bud. Its crazy since Total Chaos wants $60 a bearing but you can get the same thing for half the price. If you are re-building these and the hardware is good I wouldnt bother replacing that. Just make sure the bushings and sleeves where the upper control arm bolt goes through are in good condition.

Ya I really like the beefy ruff stuff gear. Used them before for a 3 link rear setup in my sas'd 92 4runner

Not to add more randomness into the thread but do these by chance happen to work with the regular icon uca too? I know on their site it states they use a 1" uni for the arms. I've got a spare pair just laying around and be nice to rebuild them to sell.

No idea. But I got excellent customer service from karteck where I just ordered a new pair of ss unis for my TC uca's. So you have spare arms "just laying around" that you wanna put new uniballs into for sale?

I'd say try to find the part numbers off of the ICON ones just to double check

Indeed. Perks of working at Toyota and them needing the trucks to go back to stock to be certified. Can't certify a truck with aftermarket parts on it... ones I pulled off the truck have shot to shit uni's in them.
