I’m about to replace pads and rotors and want to make sure I’m ordering the correct akebonos for my 6lug 01. I’ve heard the act 436 and 799’s will fit what’s the difference? Anybody use these before? Thanks

I have the 436. No complaints. Better than the auto parts store pads.

Akebono list Toyota as a "customer"...

when looking at brake pads/ shoes, there is a “standard” that is used so that you can compare brand X to brand Y. It comes in the form of an alphabetical rating similar to FF. The first letter, IIRC is for initial grab and the second is for fade resistance… let me see if I can find a link.

Ive used akebono pads for 10 years. I use the ceramic pads and new rotors. Takes a few miles to seat but wear really well and not as much brake dust. 70k miles and still a bit of meat on it. Mines a 5spd also

The wife's Subaru Outback runs them. 90% highway, but 76,000 and the fronts still have 50-60% left. I put new akebono pads on the rear. They still had 25% left at 75,000. Dust is minimal, braking is excellent. I will be using them going forward.
