Ive noticed that my truck vibrates more than it should, and after some close inspection, ive found that my crankshaft pulley is wobbling. I tried looking up replacements online, and although ive found them, they look nothing like what is under my hood. The one i have looks like the 3.4l, with three pulleys attached to each other, but ones online for the 2.4l are only a single pulley. The pulley furthest away from the engine is the one that is wobbling, with the rest being straight as an arrow, so i dont think the crankshaft is the problem, and i think that is the source of my excessive vibration. anyone else have trouble with this? i dont want to buy the wrong part, even though it looks like the right fit.

Crankshaft pulley is the one on the very bottom that all the belts are attached to. Then you have your accessory pulleys, self explanatory, such as alternator. Then your fan pulley, then I believe just one idler pulley on the 3.4, if any at all. Which one are you referring to? How bout some pics.

This is the Haynes manual I’ve been looking at. The crankshaft pulley all the way to the left is the one that’s been giving me trouble and I’m looking at replacing.

Yessir, 02 ext. cab. The wobble isn’t so terrible that I can’t drive, so I don’t think it’s the crankshaft, and the 2 pulleys in the rear dont wobble at all, just the one in the front.

Let me see what I can find, but something tells me that's a dealer only part.

The outer pulley(s) is/are bolted to the inner pulley. You need to check the 4(?) small bolts that hold the pulleys together. It sounds like they are loose and/or you are missing some since the outer pulley is the only one wobbling. I wouldn't even start the engine until you check it out. Hold your camera down there and take some pictures or use a mirror and flashlight and inspect.

Would you know where I could find a replacement outer pulley if needed?

www.car-part.com would come out of a salvage yard, but significantly cheaper than new dealer pricing.

Don't put the cart in front of the horse. Figure out what's wrong first. The pulley may be fine, just not bolted on tight.

Okay, I found the problem, i took off the pulley and found that it was completely bent at the mating surface. Been looking around for one at a salvage yard, and online, and cant seem to find them. Is there an interchangeable part from another toyota?
