    Hi,
I've been looking through treads for several years in TW, and have learned mass from this website, thank you to all!
However today I've found some treads that help but I still have many questions.... Like the wiring harness on my 96 Tacoma. My wires coming out of the ecu through the firewall, have melted and some have been chewed through. Does anyone have any advice on replacing these wires? From what I've read there are wires throughout the harness that I don't need? Is that true? What's the best way to go about this? (96 2.7 4wd manual Tacoma ex cab) maybe there's a tread I haven't seen yet.

    Thank you!

A new (used complete) harness would be the easiest way. Or lots of hours studying wiring diagrams and checking.

Yep, sourcing a replacement might be the easiest. Otherwise pull the harness all the way out and start splicing the correct wire colors back together. Either way pull the harness out from under the dash to see what your actually working with.
