Anyone has any better suggestions on replacing the factory lift jack, seems flimsy and cheap, anyone has suggestions?

I'm probably going to get one of these:

    https://safejacks.com/

EDIT. I did end up going this route. With the extensions it gets plenty high enough. When lifted, the stock jack is basically useless.

I made my own “foot” for the jack which you can see in the pic below. I put a safe jack sticker on it, but if you look closely you can see my stacked booger weld job.

Unless you're using it for recovery purposes. For jacking up the truck you're right though.

Not trying to hijack this thread but it seems appropriate to ask here. Anyone know where to get one of the tools to drop the spare tire?
Previous owner took the one to my truck (jackass).
    Thanks

You need a specific key that will be easiest to get at the dealership. The remaining parts can likely be bought used online.

Go get a bottle jack that is appropriately sized for the stock truck. Then buy the next largest size up so you can actually use that jack. Carry a piece of 4x4 wood or something similar to put under the jack, then you have the ability to jack the truck up enough to get the tyres.

The stock jack can barely lift your truck in stock form, if your on somewhat uneven ground your literally screwed, many parking lots have dips/etc in them. Well you can carry the wood block for that one as well. Bottle jacks are cheap though and if you lifted your truck you will need it. Speaking of which I need to go dig my bottle jack out and put it in my new truck. Completely forgot to do this.

Hi-lifts as 0210 mentioned are useless unless in the field doing a recovery or in am emergency situation on a none stock truck. Great tool, but you have to be very careful with them. They are very unforgiving to the user if you make a mistake, the bite and bite hard when mistakes are made by the user.

+1 for the safejack, it's a good balance between street/driveway and light off-road usage.

Nothing wrong with the stock jack. Don't fall for the fucking farm jack Jeeper craze. They're dangerous and don't work nearly as good as a regular floor jack

yea i seen some bad shiznitz happen with those, very unstable, not sure why big rave about it besides that it looks "cool" on truck but other using it as puller i feel bit at odds using it, had buddy who focked up a side of truck when lifted trying to fix tire and tires slid side ways and pretty much kissed good by door.

I needed two more jackstands the other day, but I came across these. I decided to borrow some jackstands for the job, and ordered two of them for the future--seemed versatile. I plan on carrying one, but I need to check if they get the tire off the ground. Seems like it will as the range is 11-21

Maybe don't buy the full kit. The Omega bottle jack they sell can be had at half the price on Amazon.

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
thats the safest place to use it. you can use the high lift to lift from a wheel with an attachment. but there are no other lift points on a stock truck. thats why they are saying its useless. its literally unuseable, it cannot lift front the frame or dif or anything...

    20170423_140853.jpg

but yes they are dangerous and you need to know how to use them and be careful. that safejack looks like a good choice it is on my list now.

I prefer a bottle jack for emergency purposes over the OEM jack. And its nice and compact and sits in the storage unit behind the back seat. Fortunately, I've never had to use it (yet) haha.
