Yup, the original FPR on my 314+k mile 3.4 failed after sitting dry for almost a month waiting for my rebuilt injectors to come back. Causes a fuel leak into the air box. In my case, it destroyed the rubber gasket that seals the air filter as well and I had to replace both the FPR and the airbox.

Thank you for the info again. Really appreciate it and I'm sure others in the future will too. I'd be a fool to ignore the advice I think.

I'm having a hard time finding replacement fuel injector rail crush washers (gaskets). I normally go through rock auto but I don't see them available on their site and the manual I have doesn't give specific info on them.

What website did you find this deal on the FPR?

Thanks again. As a novice, this is my first time delving in this deep. Wish me luck.

Good Luck. Be sure to lubricate the o-rings before installation. I've see a number of improperly lubricated o-rings become pinched and leak after installation.

I use a crows foot wrench, like in the video, to torque up the banjo bolts.

Will do, I am planning to lubricate them with gasoline. Also thank you for the referral on the OEM FPR part. It was a great deal!

Use a thin coat of Super Lube multi-purpose high temperature grease - it's cheap and can be bought at Harbor Freight. They also make a specific o-ring lube, but it's not necessary for this application. I don't think gasoline is a very good lubricant, but its better than putting them in dry.

I've been using Super Lube for injector o-ring installations for over 10 years now. Always good results. I think I learned about it from Deatschwerks.

I’m doing this Monday in my driveway but only the 1,3,5 cylinders. I’m doing the other side when it warms up. The crush washers for the banjo bolts were the toughest part to get. I’m going measure one and order a bag of them to have on hand for the future. Good luck on your project! Keep us posted.

Good luck to you as well. I've been graced with a garage just deep enough to work on the truck engine, it's tight but works. Be careful when ordering those specific washers. I believe they are made of a non-magnetic, softer metal so they can crush a bit.

I replaced the injectors and got her all put back together. Also replaced the fuel filter and FPR as planned. I also ended up replacing 3 or 4 air/vac hoses. After starting her once, she's running rough... Is this normal the first few starts? Also had a few misfires (p0303 , p0304) on two different injectors on the first start. I haven't started her up a second time yet. No leaks or anything and everything looks tip-top. Will she calibrate herself out after a few starts? I haven't found much as to things to look out for post replacement. Anyone have any tips or advice as to what to look out for?

I don't remember any misfires. It might have been rough for the first few seconds. Though I did a complete engine swap. Check for vacuum leaks around the throttle body and intake manifold. I guess it won't hurt to let it idle while you check for vacuum leaks.

I don't think this is normal. After priming the fuel line mine fired right up and ran smooth. Did you disconnect the battery and allow the ECU to reset?

Battery was disconnected during the whole replacement. No vac leaks on the second start up (just let it idle). Started right up and seemed ok. Hard to tell without driving it. No apparent vacuum leaks.
