You're good. They sell an extension but you probably don't need it.

Had a 2021 4Runner with factory JBL that I integrated into, goal was to replace the factory amp, speakers and sub, but retain the headunit. I was successful but was a good amount of work.

PAC unit to interface with Headunit, retaining steering wheel controls and catch RCA output:

Handmade speaker harness/extension to run from aftermarket amp and plug into harness at factory amp (Factory amp bypass):

Running new harness along factory harness (stock look :) ):

Retrofit Alpine Type-S sub into factory box (needed a higher wattage sub):

This time I opted to NOT get the factory JBL and save myself the hassle with my new Tacoma, but I think a lot of the above is the same for JBL powered Taco's, maybe it helps you?

    Hello, all.

does anyone know if an aftermarket amp will work for anyone wanting to mod their pre-2020 JBL Entune 2.0 to 3.0 ?

Sourcing a 2020+ JBL Amp at a decent cost can be a real chore.

Most amps on the 2020+ function by just amplifying the crappy output signal, should not be an issue to use an aftermarket amp with a PAC pro or a Maestro AR
