I just bought a 2002 4-cylinder Tacoma with a 4" lift. I believe its the cheapest lift and nonfunctional lift possible. There is a block underneath the leaf spring causing the leaf spring to almost frown. Anyway I want to replace the leaf springs and maybe even go with some Billstiens while I am under there with the leafs. I want to keep the lift even in the front. I was wondering what you tacoma motor heads suggested in the best bang for the buck and quality leaf spring to keep the truck balanced with a 4' lift? Shock suggestions as well or any other suggestions welcome. Please help the dirt roads are killing me and the truck!

AllPro,Expos,Deaver,Skyjacker, to name a few. Decide how important towing and hauling are to you. Are you trying to maintain a soft road ride or looking for more off-road articulation and capability. There are trade offs for all of these things. There is a reason that there are so many different types of pack out there. And, then there's budget.
I'm not up to speed on the 1st Gens, but I think you can get longer shackles. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. If that is the case then all your lift wouldn't have to come from the pack.
I'm pretty new here too, it can be overwhelming to contemplate a lift in the beginning. Research and use the search function. Also it would be helpful if you put your truck info in your profile so people know what truck your asking about

Thank you I appreciate the intel. I have been looking at a lot of previous threads, super helpful.

To further clarify, I have read about some leafsprings that come highly recommended but not for the 4-cylinder...So I am wonder what you guys recommend. I dont plan on hauling much seeing how its a 4-cylinder and I want a softer ride and have some 4x4 capabilities to get to those better fishing holes and camping spots, but by no means do I want to wheel around on the Rubicon. I need something in between that.
