Hello, I have a 2013 with the left rear running light "out". LED.

After some research, it seems the entire assembly (housing and lamps) must be replaced as a unit. (I found an online tutorial on performing this service).

I ordered 1 OEM on Ebay - to be delivered. Part 81560-04160.

Question 1: Should I expect the right rear assembly to fail soon?
2: Any idea why I see a few OEM LEFT rear assemblies for sale online but NO right rear?
    3. Does the left rear "burn out" quicker than the right?

    Any info is appreciated.

** EDIT** I have not checked the fuse or the wiring harness connection at the light. I'm going to do that today 10/26/2022. fwiw.

I’ve only seen the aftermarket OEM replacements fail after awhile and that’s not very often either.

First see if your brake light works.
If it does, check the tail (running light) wire at the connector. (It is the GREEN wire.)
If it has power, you probably have a bad tail light assembly.

The reason I have you check the brake light is, because the brake light uses the same ground wire as the tail light.

If the brake light didn’t work, then it could be a ground issue.

As far as how long the light works? I don’t know.
I can’t say I’ve heard of it going out too often.

    Thanks for the replies.

I received the new light assembly and installed it today.
The reason for the center light not working: a rat had chewed through the wiring. A first for me.

Although I bought a lighting assembly on EBAY, with an ad showing photo of Toyota branded OEM part / box. The part I received was not OEM.

It arrived in a box that had no manufacturer markings of any kind.
Quality looked good, part fit well, and works...
    so I installed.
