My rear shocks on my 02 trd pre runner are shot and I am looking into replacing them from what I can tell when purchasing shocks they come in sets of 2 but mine have 2 on each side...IMG_7834.jpg just trying to figure out if I can buy some replacement shocks or if I need something different. Thanks for the help.

Can't say I've seen that setup before. What other suspension modifications have been done?

Unless you feel you need a dual rear shock setup, I would take all four out and replace them with two Bilsteins or Tokico shocks.

If you run it over to a local offroad shop for an " estimate" they will explain your options free of charge. Then just do as they suggest

@Speed Freek Any advice for this gentleman. I am with the guy above and haven't seen a stock set up like this.

Glad to know no one else has seen this setup before, lol...I saw the pic and thought maybe I got screwed with only one shock on each side on my '04 o_O

What's weird is that they appear to be regular Bilstein 4600s? You'd think if someone was going to customize the rear setup and add dual shocks on either side, they'd upgrade the shocks as well. Subbed for curiosity...

Is there something welded to the axle tube that goes towards the bottom of the diff?

    We need more pictures.

o_O. I would go with what others have said. Put it back to stock and go with a set of good shocks. If your planning on running it off of road you can talk to a shop to see what they recommend, just make sure they are reputable and know what they are doing.
